The blood-orange sun slips slowly away on its dimmer switch,
Brooding clouds scamper manically like fleeing rats,
Luminescent, sorrowful Moon sighs wearily,
Nature’s spotlight closing its barn doors,
The silky sea whispers masterfully an ancient call to prayer,
Triumphant trees lean conspiratorially,
elegant, ready for the final confession,
Undulating hills wave gently,
their smooth apple-bed, bidding farewell,
Ripples of fish flick their rainbow tails in au revoir,
And the birds, the birds pipe vibrantly,
Cherished choir boys in a last ditch attempt,
and the humans, the Heavy humans weep silent whisky tears
As they stand amazed at all that is lost.
